Ethan Page Faces Familiar Challenger For NXT Title
Ethan Page now has a new number one contender for his NXT Championship and he’s not happy about it in the slightest.
Ethan Page escaped from No Mercy with his NXT Title intact after defeating TNA star Joe Hendry. The match had former champion Trick Williams acting as the special guest referee with Williams forced to count the pinfall for Page.
Immediately after that, Pete Dunne pounced attacking Trick Williams as the bad blood between them continued and one week after they went to a double count out, Williams and Dunne met again on the 10th of September edition of NXT in a Last Man Standing match with the winner being named the number one contender for the NXT Championship.
Dunne and Williams went all out and the two stars crashed from a balcony through tables following a hellacious Russian leg sweep. Ethan Page was on hand to urge Pete Dunne to his feet as he clearly did not want to face Trick Williams. As Williams started to stir with the referee still counting both men down, Page went to attack but Williams delivered a back body drop to the champion through the announce table as he rose to pick up the win.
