ESPN Announcer Hilariously Botches “John Sayna Vs. Brock Lester” WWE Wrestlepalooza Promo

Brock Lesnar F5 John Cena WWE

An ESPN announcer has gone viral for mispronouncing John Cena and Brock Lesnar’s last names.

Chris Fowler featured as the announcer during the Monday Night Football game between Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.

Unfortunately, he was tasked to read out the promo card for WWE Wrestlepalooza, scheduled for September 20.

Wrestlepalooza will be WWE’s first premium live event to air on ESPN in the United States after both companies recently signed a 5-year streaming partnership.

The John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar match will headline the PLE in Indianapolis, as the long-standing rivals clash for the last time before Cena calls the curtains on his wrestling career in December.

Fowler, meanwhile, put his inexperience with World Wrestling Entertainment on show, as he read Cena as “Sayna” and Lesnar as “Lester.”

It’s fair to say that John Cena has left a mark outside wrestling by starring in notable Hollywood films, including the Fast & Furious franchise.

Other the other hand, Brock Lesnar had a successful MMA career, having fought in UFC between 2008 and 2011.

While such gaffes are not new among non-wrestling personalities, ESPN introducing new shows might help curb such mishaps.

WWE Champion Seth Rollins Calls Out ESPN Announcer

Seth Rollins was on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike to promote WWE Wrestlepalooza.

During his chat with Evan Cohen, Chris Canty, and Michelle Smallmon, he discussed his upcoming mixed tag team match at the PLE, where he will team up with his wife Becky Lynch.

The couple is involved in a feud with CM Punk and AJ Lee.

When Cohen called Lynch “arguably” the greatest female wrestler of all time, Rollins checked him, stating Lynch was actually the greatest of all time.

She’s not “arguably” the greatest. She is actually the greatest of all time. This is the first woman to main event WrestleMania. She is a New York Times best-selling author. She has a book about her life, which is an incredible read. She’s a mother, she’s an athlete, she’s an entertainer. I mean, she does everything, and she has transcended our industry and taken female wrestling to heights no one ever could have dreamed of. So, not arguably. Without question.

Seth Rollins also praised AJ Lee for one specific reason. Read what he said here.
