WWE Wrestlepalooza Main Event Officially Confirmed
The card for WWE Wrestlepalooza is coming together.
On September 20, at Wrestlepalooza, AJ Lee will wrestle her first match in a little over a decade when she teams with husband CM Punk to face Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.
Lee initially retired in 2015 shortly after WrestleMania, citing injuries.
The show will also see Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky battle over the vacant Women’s World Championship.
Although he hasn’t been scheduled for a match on the card as of September 12, Triple H has confirmed that Cody Rhodes will be at the event. The star has been off television following an attack by Drew McIntyre, with the angle used to explain Rhodes’ absence while filming for the upcoming Street Fighter movie.
Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Pat McAfee will return to the commentary desk for Wrestlepalooza after taking a break from WWE. The former NFL star had been a regular presence on Raw but stepped away, citing exhaustion. In his absence, he was replaced by Corey Graves.
John Cena Vs. Brock Lesnar To Take WWE Wrestlepalooza Spot
During an appearance on ESPN’s SportsCenter, Joe Tessitore confirmed that Brock Lesnar’s clash with John Cena will be in the main event spot. The match will be Lesnar’s first since he lost to Cody Rhodes back at SummerSlam 2023.
There had been plans for Lesnar to come back in early 2024, but those plans were scrapped after his name appeared in Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.
