Eric Bischoff Urges AEW Star To Join WWE

Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff thinks a rising AEW star needs to jump ship.

On April 11th it was reported by SEScoops that Hook is looking to explore his options when his AEW contract expires later in 2024. Furthermore, there’s been talk of WWE interest in the second-generation star who remains a popular member of the AEW roster.

If Hook does join WWE, he’ll follow in the footsteps of his legendary father Taz who spent nine years with the sports entertainment giant before going to TNA and then AEW.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff — who’s no stranger to working for, and going up against WWE, said that if the opportunity to jump to WWE is there, Hook should take it.

“Will Tony have an issue with it? Your guess is as good as mine. Taz won’t. I don’t know HOOK. I don’t know him as a person, so I can’t honestly have an opinion. I wouldn’t think so. Fortunately, HOOK’s got a father who understands the business and has been through it in every way, shape, or form.

He understands the business and knows how to make the right decisions, so I suspect HOOK, by virtue of proximity, has some of those same feelings and perspectives that I for one hope, because I’m friends with Taz. I like Taz and I hope as a father, that HOOK gets the f**k out of there as fast as he can. If he’s got an opportunity at NXT, or in WWE in any way, shape, or form, take it.”

Eric Bischoff Gives Damning Assessment Of AEW Under Tony Khan

On the April 10th episode of Dynamite, AEW aired footage of the backstage fight between CM Punk and Jack Perry at All In. The move split fans on social media, but Bischoff was typically forthright in his criticism of the decision.

Eric Bischoff said he didn’t know why Tony Khan aired the footage, adding the company has “no hope” with Khan in charge.
