Eric Bischoff Blasts Tony Khan As “Booker Of The Year”
Former WCW President Eric Bischoff has slammed the idea that Tony Khan has been the best wrestling booker this year after Khan was given an award for exactly that by the Wrestling Observer.
Awards in wrestling always prove to be a talking point whether people believe in the prestige of them or not. AEW had a good year in the Wrestling Observer Awards with Tony Khan picking up two big prizes but as ever not everyone agrees.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff let loose on the idea that Tony Khan was named Promoter of the Year and Booker of the Year in the Wrestling Observer Awards:
“To suggest that Tony Khan was Booker of the Year, Promoter of the Year when his company damn near imploded last year as a result of the p*ss poor decisions, immature decisions, and nonsensical decisions that Tony Khan has made last year, is a joke.”
Bischoff then turned his ire towards Dave Meltzer even though the awards are voted on by subscribers to the Wrestling Observer:
“I gotta tell you, he’s a liar, he’s a fraud, he’s a weak-minded person, and he’s been doing it for years. Some people are just seeing it now because things have changed now. We have this thing called podcasts.”
FTR was richly rewarded for their efforts over the year in the awards but some thought Dax Harwood was unhappy at the team seemingly being overlooked for congratulations by AEW, something Harwood says couldn’t be further from the truth.
