Edge has heaped praise on The Judgment Day storyline heading into WrestleMania 39 and claims one member is now “the most despised character on the roster.”

The Judgment Day have gone from strength to strength since being created less than a year ago, with the potential of three huge matches at this years Show of Shows.

Rhea Ripley is looking to secure the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Charlotte Flair, a Mysterio family feud come come to blows and the final stage in Edge’s pursuit of Finn Balor feels ever closer.

Edge is happy to see how successful his former team mates have become and whilst appearing on the latest episode of After the Bell podcast, he looked back at the groups storyline and called it “one of the biggest surprises” after it’s evolution during the last 11 months.

“If you had told any of us at WrestleMania of last year, ‘Oh yeah, by the way, they’re all going to turn on you, Finn Balor’s going to cause that to happen. Then Dom is going to join and become possibly the most despised character on the roster.’”

“That’s been, I think, one of the biggest surprises out of the whole thing is just to see where that has gone and what it adds to the show to it adds to the group but it also adds to the totality of the show.

“I’m strangely so proud that The Judgment Day has become such an important cog in the machine of Raw, and SmackDown for that matter.”

Discussing the addition of Dominik Mysterio to the fold, Edge told host Corey Graves that it not only added to the overall story, but has positioned Dominik as one of the leading heels in WWE.

“The addition of Dom to this thing, just such a just a stroke of genius honestly. I think from it Dom has been able to grow into such a major part of making this thing work.”

The Judgment Day faction was started when Damian Priest helped Edge defeat AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38.

Rhea Ripley soon joined the pair, setting up a feud with Styles, Liv Morgan and Finn Balor, that would see Balor end up taking over the group, leading Priest and Ripley to turn on The Rated R Superstar.

During last year’s Clash At The Castle Premium Live Event in Cardiff, Edge gained some revenge, teaming with Rey Mysterio and defeating Balor and Priest.

However, after the match, Dominik Mysterio attacked both his father Rey and Edge, creating an opportunity for the young star to become the most hated character in the company.

On last week’s Smackdown, Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee to the Hall of Fame Class of 2023, but whilst thanking fans, was interrupted by Dom for the latest edition of insults and torment.

Whilst fans wait for confirmation on a father v son battle at WrestleMania 39, Edge has been discussing the end goal he had planned for the group.
