WWE Hall Of Famer Wanted Rhea Ripley In The Judgment Day

It was thanks to a specific Hall of Famer’s input that Rhea Ripley got her current role in the Judgment Day.

Rhea Ripley has enjoyed some success during her WWE career, but many fans would argue that her current run as part of the Judgment Day stable has been her best. She is so entertaining, especially in her interactions with Dominik Mysterio, that it’s easy to forget that she’s challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

And one person Ripley can credit for getting all this additional screen time is the women that beat her at Elimination Chamber, Beth Phoenix.

On a recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Phoenix explained that she spoke to her husband Edge about giving Ripley more of a presence on WWE’s regular programming. Edge, who has pull backstage in the company, was able to turn this suggestion into reality.

“Adam [Edge] had talked to me on the female side of things, ‘Who do you think of the female roster who could really benefit from having a bigger platform? Who needs it? Who has all of that talent but just hasn’t had the opportunity to shine in a big way?’”

Additionally, Beth Phoenix admitted she wants Ripley to beat Charlotte at WrestleMania.

“I’m pulling for Rhea Ripley, After our matchup, I feel like she’s on the biggest roll of her life.”

If Ripley beat Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, she will become something of a Women’s Grand Slam Champion in WWE. She previously held the RAW Women’s Championship, the NXT Women’s Championship, the NXT UK Women’s Championship, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Nikki A.S.H.
