Edge has shared thoughts on retirement plans after his tag team victory at WWE Elimination Chamber.

With the latest WWE Premium Live Event taking place in Montreal, the crowd were not shy in their support of Canadian heroes Edge and Sami Zayn.

Zayn was facing off against Roman Reigns in the main event on Saturday night, whilst Edge teamed up with his wife Beth Phoenix to gain revenge on The Judgement Day’s Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.

Following the match, Edge took part in the Elimination Chamber Press Conference and was asked if he would like to retire in his home country.

The Rated R Superstar shared that he is not thinking that far ahead and wants to just make the most of a second chance at competing following his shock return from injury at the 2020 Royal Rumble.

“I try not to make any firm decisions, but here’s what I can say about tonight. For nine years I was retired. I come back and I get to team with my wife, who I married while I was retired and had two beautiful little girls with. The fact that we get to do this at all, I never thought this would happen. We’re out there, and if it looks like we’re having, it’s because we are, we’re having a blast. I get to stand shoulder to shoulder with this woman.”

“We get to hit a Shatter Machine, which we have never even attempted before, and pulled off. She hasn’t wrestled a match in a year and one month. Hops in there tonight in that kind of pressure cooker against two talents like that, and man, I’m just ecstatic.”

“I’m not really thinking about what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow, let alone what I’m going to do five, six, seven, eight months from now. I will say, I would like it to be in Canada.”

Elimination Chamber offered Edge an end to a long-term battle with the faction that started after The Judgement Day turned on their former leader.

After teaming with Rey Mysterio to secure a win during Clash At The Castle last September, the feud continued as Rey’s son Dominik attacked both his father and Edge.

The Judgement Day’s Royal Rumble plans were ended when Edge entered the men’s battle and eliminated Damian Priest, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio, before Beth laid out Rhea Ripley.

By scoring the win this weekend, Edge looks set to now challenge for a first Championship win since being medically cleared to compete at the start of 2020.

Rhea Ripley is aiming to shake off the setback as she works toward dethroning Charlotte Flair when the pair battle for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, three years after Charlotte defeated the then NXT Women’s Champion Ripley.
