Eddie Kingston Loves “Great Human Being” Tony Khan

Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston has paid tribute to his AEW boss Tony Khan.

Being a boss can be a thankless task and even more so if you decide to run your own wrestling company as Tony Khan has found out more than once during the company’s five-year existence.

Speaking with AdFreeShows.com, Eddie Kingston took the opportunity to praise Khan and talk about how much he likes working with him:

“I love Tony Khan to death. He’s a great f*cking human being. He’s a great human being. Sometimes I think he’s too good. That’s just my opinion.

“Tony has such a big heart. I love that man. I love him because, and this is a big one, he listens to our ideas, even if they’re f*cking horrible. I’ve heard guys pitch stuff to him and he’ll ask me to stay, and I’ll be like, ‘Oh my God. This is bad’, but he’ll actually sit there and listen and take it in and actually try to work with the guy.”

Kingston revealed that Khan had a very clear answer for why he cares about all of his roster when the feeling is not always reciprocated:

“I remember a couple of times I would tell him, ‘Why do you care when they don’t care about you’, or, ‘Why do you care if they don’t care if this company stays open?’ He goes, ‘Eddie, I’m paying them so I have to care.’”

Eddie Kingston staying put in AEW

Eddie Kingston also revealed during the conversation that he has signed a new deal with AEW that will keep him with the company for another four years.

Kingston is the current NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion and recently added the Ring of Honor World Championship to his list of accomplishments when he defeated his hated nemesis Claudio Castagnoli at Dynamite Grand Slam.

Kingston will put both of those championships on the line against Katsuyori Shibata at WrestleDream on October 1st in Seattle.
