Eddie Kingston is happy a former colleague has found success in WWE.
Prior to shaking up AEW, Kingston briefly starred in NWA alongside the likes of Nick Aldis, Ricky Starks, Chelsea Green and LA Knight.
At the time, Knight was known as Eli Drake and had already been in the wrestling business since 2003. The star impressed while with the promotion and Billy Corgan has since revealed he wanted to make him World Champion.
After leaving the NWA, Knight found his way to NXT and has now risen to be one of the most popular stars in WWE today.
Speaking in a new interview with Adrian Hernandez, Kingston said he’s happy to see Knight doing well.
“I like LA Knight. He’s a good dude. He’s allowed (to wear Timbs). I’m so happy for LA Knight. That dude busts his ass. We all did. To see him get the love that he’s getting and being able to perform on that big stage, I salute him,”
LA Knight is set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel.
Eddie Kingston Remains No Fan Of CM Punk
Although the Mad King remains a bit fan of LA Knight, he isn’t quite so positive about CM Punk. Elsewhere during the interview, Eddie Kingston explained that despite his dislike for CM Punk, wrestlers don’t need to like each other to work together.
