Eddie Kingston Returns To AEW Television, Blasts “Disrespectful” Bryan Danielson

Eddie Kingston

Eddie Kingston wants to light a fire under Bryan Danielson.

At All In, Bryan Danielson will challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship. Should Danielson lose, he’s promised to retire.

In recent weeks, Danielson has been open about just how much he’s struggling physically, admitting he needs to undergo neck surgery before the end of the year. Although he’d previously said he planned to continue wrestling after ending his full-time career in 2024, he’s conceded this is now unlikely.

Ahead of the match, Kingston’s former rival Eddie Kingston addressed the star in a segment on Collision. The Mad King is currently out of action after suffering a broken leg and torn ACL and meniscus back in May.

In the short video, Kingston questioned whether Danielson had what it takes to go and win the World Championship.

“There’s a thing I’ve been noticing on Dynamite lately, and that’s you, Bryan. What Bryan Danielson is this, that I’m seeing? This ain’t the Bryan Danielson that used to beat me up all the time. This ain’t the Bryan Danielson that had one of the greatest matches I’ve ever seen, with him vs. KENTA in Ring of Honor.

This Bryan, that I’m seeing, is disrespectful to our sport. This Bryan that I’m seeing, is going to get beat at the pay-per-view, at All In. He’s going to get beat. ‘Cause this Bryan doesn’t have the fire anymore. Why are you doing this Bryan? Why are you even doing the match if this is not who you are?

Are you gonna step up Bryan? Are you gonna write your last love song to pro wrestling at All In? Or are you just gonna go in there and lose? ‘Cause you ain’t got it no more. That’s something you need to figure out Bryan. ‘Cause if not, then what’s the point?”

Eddie Kingston A Long Way From In-Ring Return

In the same video, Kingston said he wasn’t there to give an update on his return or to promise that he’s coming back. He explained that one day he will, but he’s still a little messed up and has a long road to recovery ahead of him.

Back in July, Eddie Kingston underwent knee surgery to repair his torn ACL and meniscus. The surgery had been delayed because of his broken leg. The former ROH World Champion isn’t expected to wrestle again until May 2025.
