Eddie Guerrero Tribute To Take Place In El Paso
Fans will get to pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero.
On October 30, it was announced that Sherilyn Guerrero has begun training to become a wrestler. Sherilyn, the daughter of the late, great Eddie Guerrero, will take her first steps into the family business with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion.
It’s also been confirmed that Sherilyn has played a huge role in creating Eddie Guerrero Day in El Paso, Texas, on November 18. This will include a special event at City Hall, where fans of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favourite wrestlers.
El Paso community member Chris Rojas shared the following:
I have been working on a special project! Join us on November 18 as we celebrate and honor and El Paso legend Eddie Guerrero! Aside of this proclamation we are also looking at getting funds to re do the mural at Lincoln park, name a park after Eddie, and our long term goal is build a statue at Lincoln park for Eddie!
This is so exciting and I can’t wait! Thank you to @sherilyn_guerrerooo for all your help with all this! You’re the real MVP!
Eddie Guerrero – Hall Of Famer
Eddie Guerrero made his in-ring debut in 1986 before debuting in WCW as an enhancement talent in 1989. Guerrero went on to wrestle in CMLL, AAA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and ECW before returning to WCW in 1995.
Over the next five years, Guerrero wrestled a series of classic matches against Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho, and more, but he was kept away from the main event picture.
In early 2000, Guerrero, Malenko, and Benoit arrived in WWE, and “Latino Heat” quickly endeared himself to the WWE faithful. After being fired and battling addiction, Guerrero eventually climbed to the top of the WWE mountain in 2004, winning the World Championship.
Eddie Guerrero sadly passed away on November 13, 2005, aged just 38.
