Dwayne Johnson Receives Record $50 Million Payday For Movie

Dwayne Johnson has received a massive, record-setting salary for a movie he’s a part of, according to a new report.

For over 20 years now, Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock to WWE fans) has been one of the most successful actors in the world. While some recent movies may not be box office successes as he had hoped, he is obviously one of the most well-known and highest-paid actors in the world.

It has been reported by Puck that Amazon reportedly paid Dwayne Johnson $50 million for the upcoming holiday movie Red One, which stars Johnson and Chris Evans. Even though it has “Red” in the title, it has nothing to do with the Red Notice movie that Johnson did for Netflix in the past.

According to AV Club, Dwayne Johnson’s $50 million payday would make him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, overtaking Robert Downey Jr.’s $40 million Captain America: Civil War salary.

While Dwayne Johnson’s films have grossed an incredible $12.5 billion according to The Direct, some recent films featuring Johnson like Jungle Cruise and Black Adam were not considered massive successes by any means.

When he’s not filming movies, producing or doing various other things, Johnson is also running the XFL football league. While the league had a reported $60 million loss in year one under new ownership, Johnson made it clear they are in it for the long haul.

As for his past life in WWE, Grayson Waller has been bringing up The Rock’s name a lot including recently on Smackdown, which has led some fans to think there might be an appearance from The Rock coming soon. Considering there’s a writer’s and actor’s strike in Hollywood right now, perhaps it might happen.

No matter what he does, Dwayne Johnson remains one of the biggest celebrities in the world and one of the highest-paid actors as well.
