Drew McIntyre Suspended By WWE

Drew McIntyre WWE

Drew McIntyre’s WWE career has taken its latest twist as he’s been suspended following the events of Money In The Bank.

At Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre thought he’d got it all figured out. In the opening match of the night, he dodged the chaos — just about, to win the men’s Money in the Bank contract. Part one: complete.

Later in the show, McIntyre cashed in that contract during the World Heavyweight Title match between Seth Rollins and Damian Priest. But, just as he was closing in on victory, CM Punk appeared from nowhere to beat McIntyre from pillar to post with a steel chair, and then the World Heavyweight Title belt.

With the Scottish star now battered and beaten, Priest delivered a South of Heaven Chokeslam to retain his title. His victory, and Punk’s involvement, also mean Rollins won’t be able to challenge for the title again while Priest is champion.

This is now the third time CM Punk has screwed Drew McIntyre out of his title and McIntyre was furious. During the post-show, an irate McIntyre ranted before elbowing Raw General Manager Adam Pearce in the head as he and referees tried to drag him away. Ultimately it was Wade Barrett who managed to drag McIntyre away before more damage was done. One WWE star has claimed to have feared for their life during the altercation.

Drew McIntyre Pays Price For Elbow

Now Adam Pearce has taken action and announced in a video shared by WWE on social media that Drew McIntyre has been suspended:

The elephant in the room. Everybody saw what happened at Money in the Bank and after. As a result, after careful consideration, I am hereby fining both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre an undisclosed amount for their actions. Furthermore, due to putting his elbow squarely in my teeth, I am hereby officially suspending Drew McIntyre indefinitely. More to come tomorrow night live on Raw.

Of course, this suspension is purely part of the ongoing storyline with the belief that Drew McIntyre will clash with CM Punk at SummerSlam.
