Drew McIntrye has revealed candid details behind a recent photograph with AEW star Jack Perry.

‘The Scottish Warrior’ has been embroiled in a months long feud with CM Punk after the recently returned Chicago native was injured at the hands of McIntyre during the 2024 Royal Rumble match.

Ahead of their highly anticipated bout at SummerSlam on 3rd August, McIntyre added fuel to the fire by posing for a photograph with AEW star Jack Perry, who famously had a backstage altercation with CM Punk moments before AEW All In 2023 at London’s Wembley Stadium. The incident led to Punk’s departure from Tony Khan’s organisation just days later.

During a recent appearance on Gorilla Position, McIntyre lifted the lid on how the photo came to be, revealing that a chance meeting with Perry on a plane presented the ideal opportunity to infuriate his bitter rival further:

“We were on the same flight. He was just right in front of me. I had a chat with him. Lovely lad. His girlfriend’s really nice, flying to L.A. and I just said, ‘Hey, we should take a picture together. We’re both wrestlers. I’ll put it on the internet. Give ya a little rub and people reacted crazy!”

Drew McIntyre Defeated At Bash In Berlin

Former World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre was victorious when he met CM Punk at SummerSlam on 3rd August, pinning the Chicago native in a bout that saw Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins serve as special guest referee.

The pair met again on 31st August at Bash In Berlin, the first Premium Live Event to be held in Germany. This time it was CM Punk who emerged victorious after a vicious strap match.
