Drew McIntyre’s Old Wounds Reappear, Stipulation Added To WrestleMania Match

Drew McIntyre was involved in a very physical segment on WWE SmackDown that led to some old wounds reappearing.

A face to face segment between WrestleMania opponents Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre was promoted on WWE SmackDown in Seattle, but it did not go well for Priest.

It was announced by WWE that the Priest-McIntyre match will be a Sin City Street Fight at WrestleMania 41. That makes sense since they have fought outside, including when Prist slammed McIntyre on a car windshield.

On SmackDown, Damian Priest made his way down to the ring, but Drew McIntyre attacked Priest from behind. McIntyre had an eye patch covering his right eye. McIntyre rammed Priest’s head into the LED boards a few times, so WWE Officials and security took Priest backstage.

McIntyre did a promo saying he always tells the truth and every action is justified, including dropping Priest’s stupid ass. McIntyre said that Priest benefitted every time McIntyre was screwed. McIntyre mentioned that Priest challenged McIntyre to a Sin City Street Fight, and McIntyre still accepted with one eye because that’s the man he is. At that point, McIntyre took his eyepatch off to reveal that he was 100% cleared, which means that Priest is 100% screwed.

Priest returned to the ring to fight with McIntyre. Priest bounced off the ropes with a clothesline, a splash against the turnbuckle and Priest clotheslined McIntyre out of the ring. Priest was pulled back by WWE Officials, so McIntyre gouged Priest’s eyes. McIntyre picked up the steel steps and hit Priest in the head with the steps.

The brutality continued as McIntyre gave Priest a Future Shock DDT on the steel steps. McIntyre took the necklace that Priest was wearing, and Priest had a dazed look on his face.

Drew McIntyre Reveals Physical Toll Of SmackDown Brawl

When Drew McIntyre faced CM Punk in a brutal Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood in October 2024, McIntyre lost the match that was praised by many as perhaps the best WWE match of the year.

It was also a match where McIntyre paid a heavy price because Punk hit McIntyre with a toolbox, which led to McIntyre bleeding heavily from the top of his head.

In retelling what happened that night recently, Drew McIntyre said that he was nearly knocked out and said he was “woozy” after the toolbox attack. McIntyre ended up needing 16 staples to close the wound on the top of his head.

On his Instagram stories, McIntyre posted a photo of the top of his head that showed that he was bleeding after the interaction with Priest. It’s a very graphic image, so we won’t post it here.

The McIntyre-Priest Sin City Street Fight is set for WrestleMania 41 Sunday on April 20th in Las Vegas.
