Dominik Mysterio Reacts To Possibly Being Babyface In WWE Again

Dominik Mysterio continues to remain a top heel.

The 28-year-old transitioned into his villainous persona at the 2022 WWE Clash at the Castle.

At the premium live event, his father, Rey Mysterio, teamed with Edge to take on The Judgment Day.

After the babyfaces defeated the team of Finn Balor and Damian Priest, Dominik first hit Edge with a low blow before nailing Rey with a clothesline.

Since then, he has remained an integral part of the faction despite other changes in its line-up.

Currently, Mysterio holds the Intercontinental Championship, which he won at WrestleMania 41 by defeating Bron Breakker, Penta, and Finn Balor in a 4-way match.

On Night 2 of the SummerSlam PLE, he defended his belt against AJ Styles, whom he had dodged for weeks, citing an injury.

The match was quite interesting, as it honored the late Eddie Guerrero, with both wrestlers incorporating the ‘cheating’ techniques he famously used during his prime run in the early 2000s.

Dominik Mysterio ultimately won the match by hitting a Frog Splash on AJ Styles for the win.

Dominik Mysterio Discusses A Potential BabyFace Turn In WWE

A heel turn was arguably the best thing to happen to Dominik Mysterio in WWE.

His popularity surged in the subsequent years, and various videos on social media prove that he remains a hit with the crowds everywhere he travels.

During a recent interview with WrestleRant, the Intercontinental Champion discussed a potential future as a babyface.

I react to what is being given to me, right? As of now, they’ve been booing me, but every now and then they’ll chant that Dirty Dom song, and that Dirty Dom song, for one way or another, it always gets a crack out of me and I tend to break and smile because it’s… It’s funny hearing everyone singing it together because I’ve just been getting booed for years.

I don’t know if I’ll ever embrace it because I haven’t changed anything about myself. I’ve just been Dirty Dom all the way. So the fact that the people still love it, I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. It’s got to be organic. You can’t force anything. You can’t force it. [H/T Fightful]

He appeared at the AAA Alianzas event on July 25th as a masked invader, receiving a huge crowd reaction when he took off his hood.
