Doctor At Centre Of Janel Grant/Vince McMahon Scandal Fires Back
The Vince McMahon sex trafficking scandal has taken another twist.
On July 16th, Janel Grant’s team filed a pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. This relates to claims from Grant that she was sent to the clinic by Vince McMahon in 2019 and given treatments that were not disclosed to her.
McMahon later filed to block the petition claiming it violated a Stay Order pausing the original lawsuit filed by Grant in January due to a federal investigation. However, McMahon’s motion was denied on August 6th.
Dr. Carlon Colker has now hit back, and his representatives have filed a “fifteen-page verified complaint for the bill of discovery seeking documentation from Grant.” His representatives deny any wrongdoing while claiming the accusations have damaged his name and reputation.
They have ordered Grant’s team to respond within 20 days and agree to a deposition in September.
A detailed report on the situation from POST Wrestling notes the following:
The plaintiffs (Dr. Colker & Peak Wellness, Inc.) are compelling Grant to “provide information concerning her activities in intentionally fostering patent lies and material misstatements concerning her interactions with and treatment by Plaintiffs” and are accusing Grant of defamation, tortious interference with business relations, and negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress on Dr. Colker.
In response, Janel Grant’s attorney Ann Callis to POST Wrestling and Wrestlenomics.
The court sided with Janel and against McMahon in confirming she was within her right to seek her own medical records and data from Dr. Carlon Colker of Peak Wellness. It is perplexing, but on brand to file an attack against a woman formerly in his care.
The complaint from Colker described Grant’s actions as a “smear campaign” designed to bolster her allegations against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The documents add that neither Colker nor Peak Wellness are named as defendants in Grant’s original suit, but noted there is a “Celebrity Doctor” and “Alternative Clinic” cited anonymously.
Several attempts have been unable to confirm whether Colker and Peak Wellness were the anonymized “Celebrity Doctor” and “Alternative Clinic”
Colker states:
“Always advised and consulted in advance with Grant concerning any specific medications she was prescribed. Grant baselessly accuses Plaintiffs of failing to provide her with a Private Policy and itemization of any bills, despite the undisputable documented evidence to the contrary, including that Grant expressly signed and acknowledged receipt of Plaintiffs’ privacy policy, which are in Grant’s possession along with the entirety of her electronic medical record and metadata.”
The complaint states that the “lies” told by Grant have caused Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness “irreparable harm and perhaps incalculable damages.”
Vince McMahon’s Attorney Comes Out Fighting
After Vince McMahon’s motion was denied on August 6th, his attorney went on the offensive, hitting out at Grant’s “deceitful behavior and lack of integrity.”
Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis continue to deny any wrongdoing.
