Dexter Lumis’ First Post-WWE Appearance Confirmed
Former WWE Superstar Dexter Lumis has been announced for his first appearance since being released from the company.
Dexter Lumis was one of ten NXT stars released from WWE on April 29th. Other names let go included Persia Pirotta and Dakota Kai. After it became public knowledge that he had been released from his contract, Lumis went back to using his real name, Samuel Shaw, and posted a video on social media that showed him painting a portrait of Vince McMahon and providing his booking information.
Now, Lumis’ first post-WWE appearance has been annlounced. He has been advertised to appear at Atomic Revolutionary Wrestling’s ‘Born in Blood’ event in Melbourne, FL on June 24th. The news was announced by ARW representative Alex Red, who explained to Fightful that the show is being built around Shaw’s return to the independent wrestling scene. The name of the event is taken from the television series ‘Dexter’, which was the inspiration for his name and gimmick in WWE.

Before his release, Dexter Lumis was a high-profile member of the NXT roster. Towards the end of 2021, he was married on-screen to Indi Hartwell to the delight of fans. Lumis’ last NXT appearance came on April 19th and saw he and Duke Hudson unsuccessfully challenge Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
