Dexter Lumis Appears On Raw, Removed By Police

Former NXT star Dexter Lumis appeared on Raw on Monday night before being dragged off by police as rumours of his imminent WWE return swirl.

The August 8th episode of Raw saw the first matches take place in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY progressing to the next round. Elsewhere on the show Bobby Lashley was able to retain his United States Title against Ciampa and Kevin Owens laid out Ezekiel, leading to Elias’ brother being taken from the arena on a stretcher.

However, those paying attention will have noticed some things amiss backstage during the evening. During a Kevin Owens interview in the parking lot, a crashed car could be seen behind Owens with Nikki A.S.H and Doudrop standing nearby.

Later in the evening police were seen seemingly in pursuit of someone while Bayley, Kai, and SKY confronted Alexa Bliss and Asuka backstage.

In the night’s main event AJ Styles will have hoped to put his issues with The Miz to bed as The Phenomenal One picked up a big victory over his recent rival. However, as Styles was celebrating, a commotion was taking place behind the ring barrier with police seemingly subduing somebody.

As they got to their feet, it was revealed the person they were trying to remove from the arena was former NXT star Dexter Lumis. Lumis had been let go from his WWE contract back in April and has since competed for the NWA. However, with Triple H now in charge, he has already begun bringing back previously released stars such as Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, and Scarlett.

An indication that Lumis’ actions were part of the storyline is that commentary mentioned him by name when he was seen, and presumably, he was the man behind the car crash and police pursuit earlier in the night.

The move could also mean that former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae that were part of The Way with Lumis, Indi Hartwell, and Theory could also soon return to the company.
