Dax Harwood Pushed For Surprising Star To Join AEW
Dax Harwood may have got more than he bargained for when he pushed for Karen Jarrett to make her debut in AEW.
At Double Or Nothing in May 2023, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler put their AEW Tag Team Championship on the line against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. If things were not tough enough for FTR in that bout with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh to contend with, things got even trickier less than two weeks before when Karen Jarrett made her AEW debut helping her husband’s group take out the AEW Tag Team Champions.
Dax Harwood Wanted Karen Jarrett In AEW
Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Karen Jarrett revealed that it was actually one of her rivals that pushed for her to be part of the company, where she remains to this day:
Well, it was very last minute when it was decided on. I thought it was going to happen maybe sooner than it did when stuff happened with The Acclaimed. I know different ideas were tossed around backstage and Jeff said, ‘I think this may happen, I think that might happen.’
It was actually Dax that kept pushing for it, from what I’ve heard, so we have him to thank for me showing up. I think it’s like 36 hours before we’re told, ‘Hey, we need you there.’
Karen Jarrett along with Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh were all banned from ringside as Jay Lethal got his Continental Classic campaign underway on Dynamite in Chicago. Lethal lost his opening match to Swerve Strickland and AEW revealed the full field for the Continental Classic before Dynamite got underway.
