Dave Meltzer Clarifies Young Bucks/WWE Situation

The Young Bucks

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has sought to give his views on the rumours that The Young Bucks have sent out feelers about a future move to WWE.

There are arguably no two men more responsible for the eventual formation of All Elite Wrestling than Nick and Matt Jackson, The Young Bucks. Together with Cody Rhodes, they self-funded the All In show in 2018 which eventually led to Tony Khan forming AEW in early 2019.

Stories have circulated recently that The Young Bucks could have an eye to the future and have allegedly been in contact with friends in WWE about a future move to that company.

These rumours come amid a period of unparalleled controversy and unrest in AEW with The Bucks currently suspended by the company – despite their executive vice president roles – for their part in a physical altercation with CM Punk following the All Out pay-per-view.

Now speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio Dave Meltzer has noted that he doesn’t believe The Young Bucks talking to their friends in WWE means they could be looking for a job. Meltzer also mentioned that he believes the Jackson brothers would go straight to Chief Content Officer Triple H about that possibility as he is someone the pair have a relationship with already.

Prior to the formation of AEW in 2019, The Young Bucks as well as the rest of the expanded Elite were in talks about joining WWE as well as fielding offers from their previous company, Ring of Honor.
