Dave Meltzer Match Ratings WWE King & Queen Of The Ring
What did Dave Meltzer make of WWE King and Queen of the Ring?
On May 25th, WWE headed to Saudi Arabia for the first time in 2024 for King and Queen of the Ring. The two tournaments had been playing out on television for several weeks with separate brackets on Raw and SmackDown. Ahead of the show, it was announced that the two winners will get a shot at the World Champion of their choice at SummerSlam.
The Queen of the Ring tournament was won by Nia Jax who saw off Lyra Valkyria in the final. Jax defeated Naomi, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair in the earlier rounds. Meanwhile, Gunther was crowned King of the Ring following a victory over Randy Orton. The Austrian star had made it to the finals following wins over Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, and Jey Uso.
Earlier in the night, Liv Morgan overcame Becky Lynch to claim the Women’s World Championship. The pair met again on Raw in a Cage Match, but Lynch was unable to reclaim the gold. It’s since been reported that the former champion will be taking a lengthy hiatus as her contract expires.
In the main event, Cody Rhodes pinned Logan Paul to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
