Dave Meltzer Gives Five Star Rating To Two AEW All Out Matches

Dave Meltzer has high praise for two matches that took place at the All Out pay-per-view.

As seen in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer has given Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kenny Omega and the strap match between Bryan Danielson and Ricky Starks five stars each. While Omega and Danielson each have multiple matches with the prestigious accolade, this is the first time that either Starks or Takeshita have been awarded the honour.

Danielson and Starks went to war in their strap match, with both men a bloody mess when all was said and done. Starks originally challenged Hall of Famer Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to the encounter at All Out, but was tricked by Steamboat, who stated that he would be facing a dragon in Chicago, but it would be The American Dragon.

Takeshita continues his streak of wins since being aligned with Don Callis. Following Takeshita getting the winning pin on Omega during a trios match at All In, Omega demanded a one-on-one rematch the following week. Once again Callis proved to be the deciding factor as he attempted to use a screwdriver on Omega once again. Callis would miss and stab the ring with the tool, but the distraction would be enough to allow Takeshita to hit multiple running knees and pick up another pinfall victory over The Best Bout Machine.
