Dark Side Of The Ring Returns, New Episodes Announced
VICE’s hit show Dark Side of The Ring is back with new stories and new subjects.
For three seasons the documentary has covered the more sordid and controversial moments in professional wrestling history.
Some of the show’s more famous topics covered include The Montreal Screwjob, Chris Benoit, Owen Hart’s sudden and tragic death, and the controversy surrounding The Fabulous Moolah.
It has also covered some lesser-known controversies and notable events, such as the Smith Family (Grizzly Smith, Jake Roberts, Sam Houston, and Rockin’ Robin), the history of Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW), Collision in Korea, and the life of Luna Vachon.
Now, after a two-year hiatus, Dark Side of the Ring is returning on May 30th on ViceTV. According to an Instagram post by series co-creator Evan Husney, four subjects have already been announced: Tammy Sytch & Chris Candido, Magnum TA, Abdullah the Butcher, and Marty Jannetty.
The remaining six topics will be announced at a future date along with the guests to be interviewed for individual episodes.
Dark Side of the Ring has been such a success for VICE that the company created a few spin-off series: Dark Side of Football, Dark Side of the 90’s, and Dark Side of Comedy.
