Darby Allin Health Update Following Horrific Fall At AEW Revolution

Darby allin aew glass

Darby Allin went through a pane of glass at AEW Revolution and there is an update on how the daredevil is doing.

In the main event of AEW Revolution, Darby Allin and Sting successfully defended the Tag Team Titles in a Tornado Tag Team Match against The Young Bucks duo of Matthew & Nicholas Jackson.

It was a chaotic match full of weapons being used, tables being broken and even guys going through panes of glass during the match.

The spot that fans may remember the most is when Allin ascended a huge ladder inside the ring while Nicholas Jackson was lying on top of a pane of glass. Allin jumped off the Ladder with a Senton Bomb attempt, but Matthew was there to save his brother Nicholas from the splash attempt. That led to Allin bumping back first onto the pane of glass that was being held up by some nearby chairs.

After taking the huge bump through the glass, Allin’s back was full of blood and there were some visible cuts on the left side of his lower back as well. Following the fall through the glass, Allin continued in the match and hit a Coffin Drop on Matthew right before Sting applied a Scorpion Death Lock on Matthew leading to the submission win in Sting’s retirement match.

Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live provided an update on how Allin was doing and reported that Allin only needed about a dozen stitches.

I looked at this guy’s back last night and it was like he was wearing a red cape. I thought, ‘Oh my god, they’re not going to let him back in the match.’ They did. He’s still streaming blood everywhere out of his back.

He needed *pause* 12 stitches. I heard that and I was like, ‘Okay, hold a second, you mean 1200 right? 12,000?’ 12 stitches. I don’t know how but thank god, and that’s the story. So, he’s on his way to Everest.

Darby Allin Plans To Climb Mount Everest

During the post-AEW Revolution press conference, Darby Allin confirmed that despite his injuries from the fall through the glass, he’s still going to climb Mount Everest in a journey that will start on March 27th.

As for his next match in an AEW ring, Allin will be in action on the March 13th episode of Dynamite when he faces Jay White. That’s assuming Allin is physically cleared to compete, which he likely will be since he only needed twelve stitches after his dive through the glass.

Meanwhile, the AEW Tag Team TItles held by Darby Allin & Sting will now be vacant with AEW’s CEO Tony Khan announcing that there will be a tournament to crown the new champions.
