Damian Priest Not Thrilled With WWE Backlash Incident
Damian Priest failed to win gold at WWE Backlash, but it was another reason that he left St. Louis in a bad mood.
At Backlash, Jacob Fatu put his WWE US Title on the line against Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and LA Knight in a fatal four-way match. However, the field became a bit clearer for Fatu and Knight as McIntyre and Priest took each other out of the match.
The WrestleMania 41 opponents fought through the arena and ended up on top of crates when Priest nailed McIntyre with a huge South of Heaven chokeslam through some tables. The Scottish star overshot the table somewhat and immediately clutched his head after landing hard on the floor.
PWInsider reported that McIntyre was being looked over by medical staff after the match. But it was better news from Triple H at the post-show press conference, who noted that McIntyre was “a little banged up” but otherwise totally fine. The proof of that will perhaps be in how quickly McIntyre is back in the ring following the bout.
Damian Priest Suffers Dental Trauma
Fightful Select reported that during the match, Damian Priest had apparently suffered a dental injury that he was, perhaps understandably, not thrilled about. The extent of the injury is currently not known, and it remains to be seen if it causes the star to miss any time from the ring.
Jacob Fatu escaped with his US Title when he pinned LA Knight after some unlikely help. Jeff Cobb wiped out Knight in his shock WWE debut as Cobb looks to be the latest member of The Bloodline, something Fatu didn’t look too thrilled with.
