Damian Priest Avoids Disaster After WWE Injury Worry
Damian Priest is still World Heavyweight Champion but things almost went very wrong for him at WWE Clash at the Castle.
At WWE Clash at the Castle Damian Priest shattered Drew McIntyre’s dreams by retaining his World Heavyweight Title in Glasgow, Scotland. However, that is far from telling the whole story.
As the match reached its climax the referee was taken out and with McIntyre pinning Priest a new official entered the fray but it turned out that was CM Punk. Punk stopped the count for McIntyre after two before kicking the Scottish Warrior below the belt and allowing Priest to hit his South of Heaven chokeslam for the win.
However, during the match, Damian Priest avoided serious injury after his foot got caught in the ropes while trying to dive to the outside. The match official could not move the ropes to free the star with Drew McIntyre having to get involved, telling the crowd that he can’t win the title if the champion is stuck in the ropes.
Damian Priest Fine After Injury Scare
After Clash at the Castle, Damian Priest noted he felt like trash but had yet to be checked out by WWE’s medical team. Fightful Select has now reported that the initial word from the company was that Damian Priest was fine and he was effectively selling his leg injury during the match.
This will come as good news to The Judgment Day as Rhea Ripley previously had to relinquish her Women’s World Championship due to injury.
