Current WWE Faction “Not Even Close” To Happening Without Triple H

Triple H WWE

Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai have run roughshod on Monday Night Raw since forming Damage CTRL but according to The Role Model, the group couldn’t have happened without a change of leadership at the top of WWE.

When Vince McMahon retired from WWE in July 2022, it was left to Triple H to take charge of the creative direction of the company as Chief Content Officer.

One of the first changes made came at SummerSlam eight days after McMahon’s departure. Bayley returned to WWE television after a year out of action due to injury to confront Bianca Belair but she did not come alone. NXT’s Io Shirai was renamed IYO SKY and Dakota Kai returned to WWE after being released previously to form Damage CTRL with Bayley.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Bayley explained that without Triple H leading WWE creatively, the group wouldn’t have come close to appearing on television together and she expects she’d have returned to doing what she did before her injury:

“No. Not even close. I didn’t know any ideas that they had for me (when she came back from her injury). Even if I asked creative, they weren’t really sure because they were waiting until I was 100% clear, so I had no idea what I was doing.

“To me, I feel like I would have just fallen back into the same place that I was. Not that that’s a bad thing, because I didn’t get to do anything with the fans, you know. So it is still all being new to me and I would have turned it up a million.

“But this, to me, is what I wanted and what I needed, even in my career, not just to help IYO and Dakota and the division. To me, it just adds another layer and another piece of evolution to my character and to show a different side of me.”

While Bayley is no doubt happy with Triple H’s input on Damage CTRL, a report has suggested some WWE stars are less than thrilled with The Game’s plans for WrestleMania 39.
