Conrad Thompson – “Ric Flair’s Not Going To Wrestle Again”

Conrad Thompson has dismissed the idea that his WWE Hall of Fame father-in-law Ric Flair will ever wrestle again.

In July Ric Flair competed in what was billed as his last-ever wrestling match as he teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat the duo of Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. The bout was promoted by podcast impresario Conrad Thompson and despite being billed as Flair’s swansong, the sixteen-time champion of the world has noted his regret at committing to his final bout.

Speaking to Wrestling Inc, Conrad Thompson commented on recent reports that Flair will be at the Royal Rumble and even ready to wrestle at the event if needed and says any comments like that are The Nature Boy clearly joking:

“I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but that’s clickbait. Anybody who actually listens to the podcast knows that he’s said that tongue-in-cheek, laughing. Even when he talked about the Rumble, he’s like ‘Somebody reported that I’m going to be at the Rumble. I’m not. I’m going to be at the 30th Anniversary ‘Raw.’ I am going to be in San Antonio, but I’m doing a signing for Fitterman. But I’ll bring my gear, I’ll bring my robe. Hell yeah, I’ll be number 30.'”

“It’s a joke. It’s not serious. He’s not really going to be in the Rumble, but I know that gets people talking and it gets people buzzing. But the reality is, Ric’s not going to wrestle again.”

Ric Flair recently commented on the status of Sasha Banks and was adamant that the star won’t leave WWE to head to AEW.
