Concern Growing In AEW Locker Room

Tony Khan poses with Britt Baker AEW

There remain concerns in the AEW locker room.

In recent weeks it emerged that Britt Baker had been suspended following an incident involving MJF and Alicia Atout. According to multiple reports, Baker made a series of disparaging remarks about the former World Champion that made their way back to the star via his partner Alicia Atout.

This is said to have led to confrontations between MJF and Baker and Baker and Atout, with MJF punching a wall.

Despite these reports, MJF has repeatedly claimed the incident was overblown and “almost everything that was written didn’t happen.” He’s also been adamant that locker room morale is higher than many outside the company give it credit for.

AEW Stars Concerned About Popularity

However, there has been a word of caution following MJF’s positivity. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer suggested that while it’s true everyone largely gets on, there remains concern about recent attendance and popularity.

The locker room in some instances is better. I think the difference is most get along, and most like Tony Khan, but there is a concern about attendance and popularity that wasn’t there in the past.

The locker room generally gets along. The MJF/Britt Baker/Alicia Atout thing happened, the story here was accurate and suspension happened but it was blown out of proportion to a degree.

At All In, MJF will defend the American Title against Will Ospreay, and Britt Baker will challenge Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship.
