Cody Rhodes Will Lose WWE Championship Next Week, Says Ex-Champion

Cody Rhodes WWE Title

Cody Rhodes’ rivalry with Drew McIntyre reached its boiling point on SmackDown last week.

On the October 17 taping of the blue brand, McIntyre was scheduled to face Jacob Fatu to determine the #1 Contender for Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship.

However, before the match, Fatu was found attacked backstage, left in a pool of his own blood.

The Scottish Warrior denied having anything to do with the attack. However, The American Nightmare believed none of it and challenged the 40-year-old for an impromptu title match.

It ended in a disqualification for Cody Rhodes after he hit Drew with the Championship belt.

Both wrestlers brawled afterward before being separated by the security staff. McIntyre was later confirmed as the new #1 Contender for Rhodes’ championship, their match taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI on November 1.

The three-time world champion also attended an ice hockey match between the Utah Mammoths and the Colorado Avalanche.

He took this opportunity to predict the outcome of his upcoming title match, stating that Rhodes will lose his title next week.

What’s happening, everybody? WWE superstar Drew McIntyre here tonight at the Utah Mammoths game. I’m fired up, everyone’s bringing the energy out here… Drew McIntyre’s going to kick Cody Rhodes’ a**e next week when I beat him for the WWE Championship. So, tonight Delta Center, [the] Mammoths win. Next week, Friday night 31st of October, SmackDown. Saturday night: Saturday Night’s Main Event on the first [of November], Drew McIntyre wins the title. #TUSKSUP

Cody Rhodes Reveals The Names Behind His WWE Success

Since returning to WWE in 2022, Cody Rhodes has become a two-time world champion and featured in several high-profile storylines.

The 40-year-old star recently spoke about a few names that have heavily contributed to his success over the last few years.

They’re really great about it. When I say ‘they,’ I mean Triple H, Nick Khan, and The Rock — they’re very good about knowing that I’ve had an education in this and that I have my own opinions on what I should maybe be doing.

But honestly, coming back here, one of the greatest gifts in WWE has been being able to say, ‘You guys tell me.’ Tell me, because I’ve been too caught up doing all of this on my own. Tell me the play. That’s what we say — the quarterback thing. I may be the quarterback of WWE, but you’re telling me the play, and I have to trust you.
