Cody Rhodes’ Challenger Confirmed For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes now knows who he’ll be defending his WWE Championship against at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Cody Rhodes has had a target on his back ever since he recaptured the WWE Championship from John Cena at SummerSlam. Almost immediately, the American Nightmare had Drew McIntyre gunning for him and his gold.

McIntyre put Rhodes out of action for several weeks, in reality, so Rhodes could film his part in the new Street Fighter movie. Now Rhodes is back on WWE TV, and his issues with McIntyre are only getting worse as the two men were involved in a huge brawl on SmackDown.

Drew McIntyre Gets Cody Rhodes For The WWE Title

Now, WWE has released a video on social media featuring SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who confirmed that Cody Rhodes will defend his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st.

Rhodes recently retained the gold against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza. That show will best be remembered, however, for the final battle between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.

Saturday Night’s Main Event will also see a new World Heavyweight Champion crowned as Jey Uso will battle CM Punk for the vacant title. That bout came about after Seth Rollins was stripped of the title due to a serious shoulder injury.
