Cody Rhodes Teases New International WWE PLE

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes has sent a message to Triple H.

In recent times WWE has made a huge push to give their major events a distinctly international flavour. In fact, Nick Khan has suggested the grand plan is to hold each of the company’s PLEs excluding the “big five” outside of North America.

Ahead of two live events in Mexico on July 13th and 14th, it was reported WWE is looking to increase its presence in the country, via its relationship with UFC. The hope is that the country can use UFC’s Performance Institute in Mexico City to snap up would-be wrestlers before they begin training with the likes of CMLL.

Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio has talked up the possibility of a PLE in Mexico, commenting that he’d like to see it happen before he retires.

Cody Rhodes Puts Out The Call

At the event in Monterrey, Cody Rhodes took on and defeated Santos Escobar, with both men cheered to the rafters. After the match, Escobar got on the microphone to address the crowd, saying the next time WWE returns to Mexico it should be for a PLE.

In response, Cody Rhodes picked up the baton, getting fans to chant “PLE” for Triple H in a moment captured on social media.

After already heading to France, Scotland, and Australia in 2024, WWE will head to Germany for Bash in Berlin on August 31st.
