Cody Rhodes Survives Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam
Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar brought their feud crashing to an end at WWE SummerSlam.
Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar’s issues began on the night after WrestleMania 39 when Lesnar viciously attacked The American Nightmare after originally indicating that he’d team up with Rhodes against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.
Since then Rhodes and Lesnar have clashed twice with each man picking up one win over the other and now at SummerSlam, there looks to be a decisive winner of the feud.
Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar went to war in a typically hard-hitting match. With Lesnar getting the best of Rhodes for most of the bout, the story became about the tenacity of Rhodes and his inability to just stay down. That was brought into sharp focus when The Beast Incarnate put Rhodes through the announce table with an F-5.
In the end, Cody Rhodes survived his trip to Suplex City and dropped Lesnar with a hat-trick of Cross Rhodes to pick up the massive win. Brock Lesnar showed uncharacteristic respect after the match as he shook Rhodes hand and hugged him before raising his hand in front of the Ford Field crowd.
What next for Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar in WWE?
Cody Rhodes has already stated that he believes the winner of this feud would be in line to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship which could make the next few months very interesting for The American Nightmare as he seeks gold in WWE.
As for Brock Lesnar, it is likely he won’t be back in WWE until the company returns to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on November 4th. At 2022’s edition of the event, Lesnar picked up a victory over Bobby Lashley despite being uncharacteristically picked apart by Lashley on the night.
