Cody Rhodes Signals End Of Career In WWE

Cody Rhodes WWE SmackDown promo

Cody Rhodes has dropped a major bombshell, indicating when his time in WWE will be coming to an end.

Cody Rhodes left WWE with his tail between his legs in 2016 as his career stagnated in the company with little sign of recovery. Making the most of his time out of the confines of the sports entertainment giant, Rhodes made a brief stop in TNA before getting in tow with the hottest act in all of pro wrestling at the time – NJPW’s Bullet Club.

Rhodes became one of the key members of what became known as The Elite alongside The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Hangman Adam Page. Such was their popularity that the group became the cornerstone of All Elite Wrestling, in which Rhodes was one of the four wrestling EVPs.

In February 2022, a seismic shock was sent through the entire wrestling world when Cody Rhodes became the first to break from the pack and announce his exit from AEW. A return to WWE as an all-conquering hero soon followed, and Rhodes has now headlined three WrestleManias in a row, as well as being the reigning WWE Champion.

But for those fans holding out for an epic comeback to AEW, then the American Nightmare might have some bad news.

Cody Rhodes Wants To End Career In WWE

Speaking on the All The Smoke podcast, Rhodes indicated that the next contract he signs in wrestling will likely be his last and says he wants to finish his days with WWE:

My last contract with WWE or the next contract I sign, probably be my last, and finish my days with WWE. It’s the house that built me. It’s the house that brought me back and put me in this wonderful, wonderful position but yeah, I don’t know. It’s very, very hard to balance.

Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, that win was not without controversy and gave fans the slightest glimpse of Rhodes’ dark side.
