Cody Rhodes Is The Next Paul Heyman Guy? WWE Drops Major Hint

Cody Rhodes Paul Heyman WWE

Cody Rhodes could be linked to Paul Heyman in the future, according to a WWE Hall of Famer.

A new WrestleMania 42 commercial aired by WWE this week, where they focused on the Las Vegas theme since it’s the second year in a row that Vegas will host WrestleMania.

In the commercial, four of WWE’s biggest stars are seated at a poker table as if they were ready to play a game together. Perhaps it could be taken as symbolism as fans wonder what roles those four men will have at WrestleMania next year.

The four men in the commercial were the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, along with former champions Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Brock Lesnar. Standing in the background were WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and the greatest manager of all time, the “Wise Man” and “Oracle,” WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman.

Heyman has a history with Reigns, Punk, and Lesnar since he managed them to championships and to big matches at WrestleMania. Out of all the “Paul Heyman Guys” in wrestling history, those three men will forever be linked with Heyman as much as anybody.

Cody Rhodes has never been a Paul Heyman Guy, at least on television. The two men have worked together as part of the storylines when Heyman was managing Reigns. They have had other interactions over the years as well.

Did WrestleMania Commercial Tease Cody Rhodes As A Paul Heyman Guy?

The WrestleMania commercial got people talking in multiple ways. WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley (aka Bully Ray) mentioned on Busted Open Radio that perhaps Cody was in the commercial with other former Paul Heyman Guys because it’s a sign of things to come.

“Three Heyman guys at the table. Roman, Brock, and Punk, with the biggest baby face in the WWE, Cody Rhodes, or is he? I’m gonna say something right now that a lot of people may agree with. They might not agree with. Are we looking at a modern day Dangerous Alliance? Is this the time for Cody to join the rest of those Heyman guys? I don’t know.”

In the same episode, Bully Ray made the point that when (or if) Cody Rhodes does turn heel in WWE, Ray believes Heyman will have a role in that.

“I can look at a piece of art and see one thing, and you can look at a piece of art and see another. Lots of Heyman guys, lots of Heyman representation, and Cody. I always said that when the day comes, when Cody’s heel day comes, that Paul Heyman is the guy to get in Cody’s ear. Who knows? Or maybe Cody’s just waiting on his bourbon and the waitress hasn’t brought it to him yet.”

Cody Rhodes is set to defend the WWE Championship this Saturday, November 1st at Saturday Night’s Main Event against Drew McIntyre.
