Cody Rhodes Wants Justice In Vince McMahon Scandal

Cody Rhodes WWE

Cody Rhodes has given his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Vince McMahon and says he likes to see things play out from a legal perspective.

Vince McMahon has been accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking in a bombshell lawsuit that rocked the company. As a result, Vince McMahon was told to resign as TKO Executive Chairman and those at the very top of the company have been adamant that he won’t be returning, no matter how the lawsuit turns out.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Cody Rhodes was asked about the Vince McMahon situation and referenced his comments made at the Royal Rumble press conference that came just a few days after the news about McMahon broke:

You have to be truthful in those moments. I think everybody that night was attempting to be truthful in their own way, but sometimes you have to call it what it is and not shy away from it. I’m glad I was able to answer that.

Cody Rhodes Doesn’t Want Vince McMahon Accuser Shamed

Rhodes then explained that he likes to see things play out from a legal point of view and says while he is very aware of the situation he has to put all his focus into what he does on the show but he does hope justice is done:

Today, whenever there is an accusation or anything of that nature, it’s very important that you don’t shame the accuser. People are quick to do that sometimes. I also am not a legal personnel or in law enforcement. I like to see it play out from a legal and court situation. Did someone break the law? Is there guilt? Is there punishment?

I don’t want to be naive to it, but I have to put my focus solely on how we make a show the best show possible. The excitement over Netflix, WrestleMania, The Rock returning. I don’t have a lot of time to focus on that, but I am looking at it like everyone else. Hopefully there is a resolution that justice is brought for whomever.

WWE President Nick Khan called the allegations made against Vince McMahon “horrific” as he explained if they would have affected the company’s deal with Netflix.
