Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre & Jimmy Uso Involved In Explosive WWE SmackDown Opening
Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Jimmy Uso were involved in a chaotic start to WWE SmackDown tonight.
Last week, Jacob Fatu was mysteriously attacked backstage before his scheduled number-one contender’s match for the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. Although The Scottish Warrior denied being behind the attack, an angry Cody Rhodes decided to fight him in a title match later that night. However, the bout ended in disqualification after the champion uncharacteristically hit his opponent with the title.
Tonight’s episode of SmackDown started with Rhodes meeting Jimmy Uso backstage. The latter clarified that he was at the show to speak to General Manager Nick Aldis about what happened to his cousin, Fatu. The American Nightmare also asked Jimmy about his relationship with his twin brother after Jey eliminated him last Monday from the Battle Royal on RAW. He also advised him to do what is best for him, as Jey would also do.
Cody Rhodes then headed to the ring to address his actions last week. He wondered if he should apologize. He was then interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who stated that he did not want his apology. Meanwhile, The Scottish Warrior questioned the crowd cheering for The American Nightmare, claiming they were brainwashed by “corporate Cody’s propaganda.” McIntyre added that he had been scr*wed so many times that this has become about him finishing the story.

The former World Heavyweight Champion then shifted topics to talk about Fatu’s attack, again insisting that he was innocent and had nothing to do with it. He then wondered if the attacker was Jimmy Uso taking a page out of his wife Naomi’s page, referring to The Glow’s attack on Jade Cargill several months ago.
Rhodes demanded that McIntyre stop. He told him that they should pick up where they left off last week and fight. Nevertheless, Jimmy Uso suddenly attacked The Scottish Warrior before he engaged in battle with the Undisputed WWE Champion. The two were separated by security and WWE officials.

After a commercial break, McIntyre was seen backstage talking to Aldis, demanding that the SmackDown General Manager do something about Jimmy. The Scottish Warrior was surprisingly attacked again by the former tag team champion. Security interfered once more to separate the two.
Later on the show, Aldis informed Jimmy Uso that he would go head-to-head with McIntyre in a no-disqualification match tonight.
