Cody Rhodes Could Take Break After Losing Title To Major WWE Star

Cody Rhodes WWE

Cody Rhodes’ WWE journey is one for the ages.

In his second stint with the Stamford promotion, The American Nightmare is the current two-time Undisputed WWE Champion.

He defeated John Cena at SummerSlam in a Street Fight to reclaim his title, which he lost at WrestleMania 41 in April.

The 40-year-old is set to defend his Championship belt at Clash in Paris on August 31. While WWE has yet to announce his opponent, it is most likely to be Drew McIntyre.

The Scottish Warrior found himself embroiled in a strange confrontation when he and Logan Paul attacked Cena on SmackDown before Rhodes ran in to make the save.

Soon, a tag team match between the four men was finalized for the main event.

The match ended after Paul hit a low blow on Cena. However, McIntyre had a different agenda, as he hit Rhodes with the title.

He then measured a groggy Cody Rhodes and hit him with a Claymore Kick that sent him through the announcers’ desk.

WWE Personality Predicts Cody Rhodes’ Title Loss And Hiatus

World Wrestling Entertainment will soon announce Cody Rhodes’ opponent at Clash in Paris.

Should it be Drew McIntyre, Sam Roberts of NotSam Wrestling has predicted a title loss for The American Nightmare, followed by a brief hiatus.

You know what would be interesting if Cody does end up going away for any period of time, what if Cody’s title reign is short and Drew actually wins the Championship? And then, Cody can come and become, maybe at the Royal Rumble, he can become a three-time champion. I mean, it’s possible. I don’t necessarily think it’s likely, but talk about a shock ending! Meanwhile, John Cena has booked a match against Paul Logan at Clash in Paris.

Cody Rhodes has signed a Hollywood movie, and he will be required to briefly step away to comply with his filming commitments.
