Cody Rhodes Confirms Injury Suffered At Hands Of Travis Scott

Cody Rhodes WWE Title

Cody Rhodes has looked back on working with Travis Scott.

At Elimination Chamber, Cody Rhodes refused to sell his soul to The Rock in a moment that set up John Cena’s stunning heel turn.

Once Rhodes told Rock to “go f*ck himself,” the Great One gave Cena the signal, and the veteran attacked The American Nightmare. Cena was helped in the assault by Travis Scott, who had come to the ring with The Rock.

With Rhodes lying face-first on the mat, Scott slapped him around the side of the head, giving him a black eye and reportedly injuring his ear. It’s believed some backstage were less than impressed by Scott doing so much damage to one of the company’s biggest stars.

During an appearance on Hot Ones, Rhodes looked back on Scott’s role at Elimination Chamber and confirmed that he gave him a ruptured eardrum. However, he refused to criticise the star for the incident.

“I wish I could tell you it wasn’t true, because I wanted anyone else to have the credit for that. So you got Rock in the ring and you’ve got (John) Cena in the ring. But my man Travis (Scott), who nothing but love for, he has a big old hand. So yes, it did bust my eardrum. If anyone ever wonders why I didn’t slap him (or just) hit him with a Cross Rhodes, he’s gracing us with his presence.

At wrestling right now, again, we’re getting all these fun folks but years ago, it wasn’t that easy… I want you to come back, man. Our house is your house. You know, maybe swing less, but our house is your house so yeah, no, Travis did do that. That’s a fact.”

Despite his heavy involvement at Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania, it’s been reported that WWE has dropped all plans for Travis Scott moving forward. According to the latest report on the situation, there was a complete falling out as the company ran out of patience with the Hip Hop star.

Scott had been training with the aim of making his in-ring debut later in 2025.

Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes will be back in action at SummerSlam, where he’ll challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
