Cody Rhodes Comments On Fan Reactions In AEW
Recently, Cody Rhodes gave some clarity on his prior situation with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), saying he was a heel during his time in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Rhodes — who was a founding father of AEW — would often get negative reactions from crowds, no matter what city they were in. At the very least, he would receive a mixed response, but not many positive ones.
At the time, the “American Nightmare” said he was a good guy, however, Cody Rhodes is now saying on Twitter that he was in fact a heel at All Elite Wrestling.
Ha no – I was a heel, the fans were amazing. It ain’t ever on the fans.

Earlier this year in February, Rhodes left AEW, making a comeback to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as a babyface, returning at WrestleMania.
Currently, Rhodes is out with a torn pectoral injury, and is expected to return in the next coming months.
In other Cody Rhodes-related news, the “American Nightmare” would speak about the mistakes that he thinks he made while listed as AEW’s Executive Vice President, making the comments to Ryan Satin on the “Out of Character” podcast.
Satin brought up how Rhodes once had said to Nick Hausman in the post-WrestleMania scrum that he didn’t have the maturity level to fulfill his EVP role. Rhodes would provide clarity on that statement.
“I was very active and I did start a department, a community department. Brandi (Rhodes) did bring Kulture City into the wrestling and sports entertainment space.
So, we were very active in terms of all the facets and assets of that gig. But, I think that job was meant for… we wanted a wrestling company brought you by wrestlers.
For sure, that’s a huge part of the mission… but maybe it would’ve been better served for me at age 45 than it did at age 33 or whatever it was.”
