Cody Rhodes Explains The Most Beautiful Moment He Got At WrestleMania 40
Cody Rhodes has revealed his quietest moment at WrestleMania 40 was also the most special.
At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns and capturing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, a title whose lineage includes the WWE Championship his father, Dusty Rhodes, was never able to win during his legendary career.
The match included no end of surprises as stars past and present helped Rhodes by seeing off The Rock and the rest of The Bloodline, giving The American Nightmare a clear shot at the man who has been his ultimate target since returning to WWE back in 2022. Rhodes hit Reigns with three Cross Rhodes to bring Roman’s 1316-day Empire to an end.
After the match, Rhodes had an emotional celebration in the ring with friends, family, and fellow wrestlers. The new champion even called in Bruce Pritchard and Triple H to join the festivities as they were instrumental in getting him back to WWE.
However, the most beautiful moment for Rhodes came before the match even started. The star told The Today Show that being able to share his entrance with his wife, Brandi Rhodes, was something special.
“The quietest moment I got, which was the most beautiful and special thing, I got to do my entrance with my wife last night. That’s as real as it gets. I can’t do this and make the sacrifices and all that without what she does. I was blessed to have her be part of that and WWE just did it right.”
Brandi Rhodes Opens Up On Her Departure From AEW
Brandi Rhodes has given some insight into why she left AEW back in 2022. According to the former Nightmare Collective star, things were “drifting from the original vision” of the company. For his part, Cody Rhodes has maintained that his departure was due to a “personal issue” that he doesn’t plan to disclose.
