Cody Rhodes Finally Addresses WWE Fans’ Boos
Cody Rhodes is WWE’s top champion at the moment. He dethroned John Cena at SummerSlam 2025 and has been representing the championship since then.
The fans cheer very loudly for The American Nightmare, but that hasn’t always been the case. The Undisputed WWE Champion has faced his fair share of boos from the fandom in his pro-wrestling career.
While speaking on All The Smoke podcast, Cody Rhodes opened up about how he felt when the fans booed him. He revealed not feeling mad at the fandom; instead, he remembers that what he does is for a live audience and not for silence.
I never get mad at fans. If fans had booed me in the past, and maybe they weren’t supposed to boo me, or if fans had gotten to me in a social space, whatever it was. I never could go to sleep mad at them because they are also responsible for everything I have. And that’s not just my career, but the confidence. You can’t do it for silence, right? The live audience is what we do.
Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre at SNME
On November 1st, 2025, Saturday Night’s Main Event, The American Nightmare put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Drew McIntyre.
Despite having a part of the fandom favoring The Scottish Warrior to win, The American Nightmare retained the championship.
However, the loss is not related to Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract. His contract goes all the way up to 2028.
