CM Punk’s WWE Return For One Simple Reason

CM Punk

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T thinks CM Punk might have realised early on in AEW that he was fighting a losing battle.

CM Punk shocked the world at Survivor Series when he returned to WWE for the first time in almost ten years. That came less than three months after CM Punk was publicly fired by AEW following his part in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and NXT announcer Booker T gave his thoughts on Punk’s Raw promo and admitted he was surprised that Punk said he was home and thinks the star maybe realised that things weren’t going to change in AEW:

According to CM Punk, he’s back home. I was surprised to hear that.

In certain places, like in Arizona, you can water that damn grass all day long and it ain’t gonna turn green. Maybe CM Punk figured that out after a minute of being in AEW, working with certain guys.

Booker T Says CM Punk’s WWE Return Is All Business

Asked why Punk had decided to return to WWE, Booker T seemed to agree with Punk’s final comments on Raw and said it’s all just business and not about revenge on AEW:

It’s business. This has nothing to do with anything other than numbers.

Fans hoping to hear Punk openly bash his old company might be in for a disappointment as the belief is CM Punk won’t be publicly commenting on AEW and his time there.
