CM Punk’s WWE Return Under One Critical Condition

CM Punk

CM Punk is back in WWE but his past may have put one condition on his new run in the company.

CM Punk shocked the world at Survivor Series as he appeared in WWE for the first time in almost ten years. Punk famously walked out of WWE on the night after the 2014 Royal Rumble having grown increasingly frustrated at his position in the company.

Punk laid bare all his issues with WWE in his infamous appearance on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast which led to legal action and ultimately the fallout between Punk and Cabana.

It was rumours surrounding Punk’s involvement in Cabana’s diminished stature in AEW that led to his angry tirade at the All Out 2022 media scrum which was followed by a backstage fight involving him and The Elite. CM Punk was fired by AEW after another backstage altercation at All In with Jack Perry which paved the way for his return to WWE.

CM Punk Has To Avoid Making People Crazy In WWE

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that he had been told by those in WWE that there was a consensus of being happy to make money with Punk following his AEW exit. However, it was also noted that the optimism came with the one caveat of Punk not driving people crazy in WWE.

Seth Rollins was visibly angry when CM Punk appeared at Survivor Series but it is believed his reaction was all part of the show. Less is known about why Drew McIntyre stormed out of the arena after Punk’s appearance.
