CM Punk’s WrestleMania Plans Confirmed

CM Punk WWE

CM Punk is heading for a huge match at WrestleMania.

Following his return to WWE at Survivor Series, CM Punk has yet to return to the ring — at least on television. However, that streak will be broken at the Royal Rumble when he takes on 29 other Superstars as he bids to earn a World Title shot at WrestleMania.

While there’s no word on whether Punk will be the man to win the Rumble match, he is reportedly heading for a big money bout at WrestleMania 40.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins is the confirmed plan for Philadelphia. The pair have been at odds on WWE television ever since Punk returned, seemingly building on Rollins’ real-life dislike of the star.

“Seth Rollins vs. Punk is the confirmed WrestleMania plan. Reigns opponent is expected to be either The Rock or Rhodes, or it could be a three-way.”

CM Punk Vs. Seth Rollins In Danger?

Although Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk might be the medium-term plan, in the short term, Rollins’s status is much more uncertain.

On the January 15th episode of Raw, Rollins defeated Jinder Mahal to retain the World Heavyweight Title. However, his victory in the main event came at a cost as it was reported the star suffered a knee injury in the process and was seen being helped backstage limping heavily.

Seth Rollins has now been removed from a number of live events, and there have been reports that the injury might be worse than first feared.
