Why CM Punk Starting His Own Promotion Is The Worst Idea

CM Punk

CM Punk is looking forward to giving back to the wrestling business but he wants someone to stop him if he dares to start his own promotion.

CM Punk will finally get his hands on Seth Rollins when WWE Raw debuts on Netflix as a decade of bad blood threatens to boil over.

Rollins’ hatred of Punk was obvious on the night CM Punk made his shock return to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 just weeks after his ill-fated spell in AEW finally came to an end. Since returning to WWE there has been plenty of talk regarding Punk working with the younger talent on the roster but don’t expect him to follow Tony Khan’s lead into the world of promoting.

CM Punk Not Looking To Start His Own Company

Speaking on the Nightcap podcast, CM Punk spoke about looking forward to the next phase of his career once his in-ring days are over but wants a beating if he ever decides to start his own promotion:

If I start my own promotion I want you to find me wherever I am and just kick my ass. That’s about the worst idea, man.

I do think there is an avenue for me to continue to be in the business behind the scenes helping, but I think if you’re worth your weight you do that now…three parts to a career, right? You start and to me, that’s when you learn. There’s the middle part, that’s where you earn, and the third part is return, now you give back. So I definitely look forward to that third act.

CM Punk also revealed how he cried after his serious injury on his WWE return that kept him out of a match at WrestleMania 40.
