Everybody seems to love pizza, but when it comes to CM Punk and Colt Cabana, it played a part in their friendship falling apart.

CM Punk and Colt Cabana were once the closest of friends, but over the last decade that fell apart and they are no longer on good terms. It turns out that some pizza played a part in that.

The short version of the story is that Punk was on Cabana’s popular podcast in November 2014. It was a memorable show with Punk detailing his issues with WWE that led to Punk walking out of the company in January 2014.

During the podcast, Punk was very critical of WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann for how he treated Punk’s various injuries during his time there. That led to Amann suing Punk and Cabana for damaging his credibility. Punk would end up winning the civil lawsuit filed by Dr. Amann. However, Punk’s friendship with Cabana also ended due to Punk claiming Cabana had to pay his own legal fees while Cabana believed Punk was paying for them.

At the All Out 2022 press conference last September, CM Punk aired his grievances toward Colt Cabana, who wasn’t part of the show in any way. Punk ranted about Cabana while mocking him for sharing a bank account with his mother.

CM Punk was back in the news yet again this week when it was reported he was visiting some WWE superstars at Raw in Chicago this past Monday.

It was revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that a big reason why CM Punk was mad at Colt Cabana during their trial issues is because Cabana went for pizza with some WWE friends of his, which infuriated Punk, who thought that Cabana shouldn’t have any contact with WWE talent.

“Okay, so the show on Monday when we were talking about the irony of the Punk thing and the thing that started all of this, which was when Punk and Cabana had their falling out when Cabana going to the show. Anyway, I’ve been told that the story is essentially correct, but it wasn’t…Cabana didn’t go to a WWE show.”

“He actually went out for pizza with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and PAC a couple of years ago and that’s what caused the start of everything basically because he [Punk] felt that they shouldn’t have contact with anyone in WWE because of the lawsuit. Caban went for pizza with guys he’s known on the independent scene for years and years and was good friends with.”

During his time in WWE, Pac was known as (Adrian Nevill) while Zayn & Owens are the current Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

As for the future, CM Punk is expected to return to AEW TV this June on a new show called Collision after meeting with AEW’s Chris Jericho to sort out whatever issues Punk has with people in the company. No word on if Punk and Jericho had pizza when they met.
