CM Punk Pictured With Current WWE Champion

CM Punk may be suspended from AEW at this time, but that hasn’t stopped him from interacting with some current and former WWE colleagues.

Punk, alongside “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, was suspended following AEW All In after the two of them got into a physical altercation over Perry’s “cry me a river” comment following Punk vetoing Perry’s request to use real glass in an angle.

AEW president Tony Khan has kept things quiet on the matter pending an investigation, but he has confirmed that Punk was taken off of this weekend’s All Out PPV.

Punk hasn’t commented on the matter, but part of that was because he was busy accepted the Cauliflower Alley Club’s Iron Mike Mazurki Award at the 2023 CAC induction ceremony.

As Punk accepted his award, he didn’t mention anything related to AEW and instead focused his time and energy to taking photos with some of his former opponents and colleagues from his time in WWE, with photos courtesy of WrestleTalk.

Punk posted a series of photos to his Instagram which saw a smiling Punk alongside the likes of Bradshaw & Ron “Faarooq” Simmons, Mickie James, and current WWE United States Champion Rey Mysterio.

During his award acceptance speech, Punk laughed off criticism and lack of respect from some people, and noted that he earned respect from the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, and Harley Race.

The Iron Mike Mazurki award is given to wrestlers who “have made exceptional contributions to professional wrestling and have exhibited outstanding dedication to the sport both inside and outside the ring.”

Other wrestlers and wrestling-related personalities honored in 2023 include Mickie James, The Nasty Boys, Koko B. Ware, Damian 666, Joe Malenko, and Killer Karl Kox.
